It is with deep sadness to inform you all that our dear friend, fellow volunteer, Team Leader and Committee Member, Peter Leach, passed away on Monday night.

Peter has always been committed to giving back to the community. He had been with the CFA for over 50 years, volunteering after retiring.

Peter joined us at Carevan in Nov 2020  saying “I wanted to assist another organisation instead of just CFA, with whom I have been a member for nearly 50 years.  I find it very fulfilling and enjoyable assisting others. I took on the role of a Team Leader in March 2021 and have enjoyed working with many of our fabulous volunteers. I then became the Maintenance Coordinator and have overseen improvements to our equipment. I am a regular at the food cook-ups with the ladies of Inner Wheel who prepare the meals for our clients. This is a great organisation that does not get any funding and is completely manned by volunteers.”

Peter is going to be greatly missed at the van on service nights. Many friendships with volunteers and clients have been formed over the years. He will be greatly missed within the Wangaratta community because of his tireless dedication to serving others.

RIP Our Friend
